Eforea Spa – luxury at the Ageas Bowl.

Myself and two of my closest friends love to spoil eachother; especially on birthdays. This year was no exception and we surprised one of our girls with a birthday spa day at the Eforea Spa, a spa attached to the Hilton Hotel at the Ageas Bowl cricket ground in Hedge End, UK. For the basic package at £45 pp (weekdays £35) you receive full use of the spa facilities and afternoon tea, making it a perfect money saving option if you want a day of luxury at a low price! We decided to book two of us in for the basic package and the birthday girl received the Eforea package; which for £79 had a 60 minute treatment as well all the benefits that the basic package had.

We arrived at Eforea at around half past 10 in the morning, swimming costumes at the ready and more than excited for those fluffy robes and slippers! We were swiftly checked in by a calm and very pleasant therapist, handed our spa essentials and lead through to a large changing room to dispense of our bags and clothes.

After an embarrassing amount of selfies, we finally made our way into the main spa area; the main feature being a hydrotherapy pool with submerged loungers, fountains and jets. The effect of the whole area is minimalist and chic, with loungers around the main pool, an outdoor hottub and then small intimate rooms off of the main space which housed a sauna, two steam rooms, heated stone loungers and a foot spa. We spent the next three hours making our way around all of these facilities, immersing ourselves in relaxation (and hoping that our pores would be fully cleansed by the end of the day). It was quiet, calm and very chilled; exactly what you want from a spa day!

Once the birthday girl had returned from her treatment, we padded out into the Spa Cafe ready for our afternoon tea. The spread was generous and included savoury brioche rolls filled with Brie and caramelised onion, lemon drizzle, fruit cake, creme brûlée and of course scones! As it was a celebratory event I also ordered a bottle of prosecco to go with our tea and we returned to the spa an hour later a tad merrier than when we exited!

After another couple of hours in the main spa, we deposited our towels, robes and slippers into the unit provided and made our way back downstairs into the sunlight . The Eforea Spa really is a wonderfully kitted out relaxation facility, with all the gadgets for a great day out whether it be for a hen-do, couples retreat or girlie get together!

This smile says it all! Relaxed, revived and loving life!
